“The Days of Stolly on the Rocks…” 😁🎵🎵

Let’s have a drink…my friends.

As I pour some Stolly into my glass of rocks…my mind & heart recalls my late dears. 🧡

Stolly is my Edie’s, Dewars is my Louise’s, Gin Martinis are for my Joanna, and my hubby Arthur’s “double Cutty Sark” …no fruit.

These days I drink my Stolly alone. at my computer with the TV on. 📺🥃 🧊🧊🧊

I am melancholy, it's a holiday weekend. (July Fourth).

NYC has emptied, people went on vacation, the children left for summer camp. My small family is scattered in other states.

It is hot, humid and bad aired outside…all day. The sun was brutal as was the heat rising from the cement streets.

Finally, Sunset…

I thought I would take an evening stroll as it got dark…and the night air had cooled off. Then I paused, after watching the evening news, (a big mistake). Now, I am imagining the dangerous creeps lurking on the shadowy, dimly lit streets. This crime-filled TV hour played “The Boogeyman” … to my nerves. It caused to change my mind and decide to stay at home… and not wander the night sidewalks…alone.

So, bored I reminisce of my younger life filled with mischief, chutzpah, and loads of fun with my crowd, my hubby at my side, lifetime friends. 👨‍👩‍👦‍👦👩‍👩‍👧‍👦

The Stolly mellows me…somewhat…

Liquor is woven into the swell times in my life, even though I’m “a one drink- one -drunk -girl”.

I always say I was born high so a few sips of Stolly was enough to send me…higher! 🤣

Happy times…silly times, youthful times. 🤩

I want them again…now!

This year of 2024 I have them all …locked in the vault of memory. 😊 🔑🔒

Oh, to dance thru those times again…laughing…loving. 🎵🎶🎹🕯🕯⌛

Holiday celebrations at home, with family and friends galore. 😂😉😋😄

Laughter with funny times… Oh Lordy I must be grateful I had those times. I need another “Stolly”, Dee-Dee. 🤔😛
