The Constipated Trees of New York

…The Leaves wish…

Strange things are happening in the Big Apple. 😜

Its weather is in the mid-seventies' …today. Holy Heavens! 😮 What happened to our Autumn?

I threw myself out of my apartment about six, even in the midst of packing for an out of state flight tomorrow. I heard on the radio what a pleasant quirk of a day it was.

I stuck my head out the window to check it out. It appeared like an ordinary summer evening in NYC.

I saw parents who were pushing baby carriages; children were rolling on their scooters in delight, seniors were planted on the playground benches, a medley of “Poo-Mix” dogs were strolling, & vendors selling their goodies. What a delight for us to have these summer-like temperatures…in late October.

(Usually, Octobers held the promise of winter) …in the air.

How could I not partake…I ask you! 😏 Screw the packing!

Down to the East River Park I sprint… postponing the tedious chore I left undone.

The river appeared like silver Morie Silk as it unfolded out to join the Atlantic Ocean…once more. Skies above were light grey porcelain… cloudless. It felt …dreamlike. 😌

The trees do not know whether to bloom or doom their foliage…so they remain with indigestion locked in purgatory… constipated still as their green/gold leaves were held fast on their branches.

No cool crisp temperature nor the winds, have materialized to wither the leaves free to swirl in abandon joy…up, up away…
