😮The Compliment I wish I never got…

Last night I had dinner date with Iris, my eldest daughter, Lisa’s girlfriend.

This daughter lives in Florida for years, is thus no longer available to grab a bite with.

Iris and I have become friends, & since she resides nearby. We enjoy each other’s company.

I know this adorable gal since she, and Lisa, met in sleep-away summer camp. The 2 girls were both 7 years old.

Now she is 60 and I’m 81.

Iris is a soul mate and has become part of my family. I love her husband and children too.

So, as we do every once in a while, we have dinner together, just us 2 girls to catch-up.

Over Malbec, and Frutti de mare, in an Italian joint, she goes into this unprovoked rave about what a ravishing beauty I, (Dee-Dee) “WAS”. “Breathtaking”, she claimed rolling her eyes to the Heavens, with arms waving to enforce her statement. I am taken back.

I wonder: I must be ugly…now! 🤮

WOW!

I ask you is this a compliment or a knock…for this “former knockout”? 🦚

What prompted this comment out of nowhere? 🎆

Inwardly, I’m no longer enjoying my pasta dish…now I’m needing another glass of Malbec…instantly to restore my composure.

Iris & I finished our meal, then hugged “goodnight”.

When I got home, I immediately ran to my glaring bathroom mirror to examine my face, very closely. I twisted my puss this way, then that way.

I pinched my cheeks, raised my eyebrows, stretched my neck and pulled👀👀 my hair apart checking for white scalp.

Lordy! 😢

I had to take a deep breath, then I mentally laid out a course of action…immediately!

Guilt & new concern overtook me…how dare THIS “ravishing beauty” 🤩… age…naturally. 🤔

I guess I must resign myself to getting Botex and fillers shots…ouch!

Perhaps I should change my natural teeth to a set of “Chiclets”. 😁(Porcelain caps), at least 2X the size, & whiteness of my normal teeth.

What about adding hair fillers to blowup to my tresses to Phyllis Diller volume.

Ironically up until this upsetting dinner, I thought I was a “ravishing, breathtaking beauty "of 81 & a half” …aging naturally. 😛

LOL!

Oh well… La De Da! 🙄🤣
