…Party Party, Party its 2025, 🔊🎵⏳
I was unfashionably late… as per my “Grand Entrance”, as I swung open Carol’s apartment door. This after I bellowed “HELLO” to my mostly hard of hearing crowd of ladies.
All turned to stare as I carelessly lost my tight grip on my gift-wrapped bottle of delicious Malbec. 🤪
“Crash- Bam” it burst its lacquer- red contents across her beautiful oak floors. (Not to mention in this pool of instantly spreading wine were dangerously peaked glass shards of sharp glass… with foil printed paper flecks in abundance). The festive bow that topped my gift…floated atop the red flood. What specular composition…OY!
Holy Malbec!
(My face matched the red puddle). Embarrassed!!!😬🥵
(Her weeks long meticulous plan of party preparation was killed by “sweet little me”). Our frazzled hostess, Carol, didn’t trust me to clean it up!
Now she had to don kitchen gloves armed with brush/pan and a huge roll of paper towels. Then a mop. 😓🧻🧹🧽
(Boy I really know how to stop a party)! 😮🥵
We were the 5 *Paragon Pearls plus 5 others also mature Paragon women. LOL!
“Non-alcohol” Prosecco was the favored cocktail of most… but me & my Pearls’ pals. 🍷🍷🍷🍷🍷
There were 10 guests in all, but 3 walkers were parked outside Carol’s door.
All were happy attractive smartly dressed for our News Eve Party. ✨🎉🎊
It started at 7P.M. and dispersed at 10:45.
Well, they’re old ladies except me. LOL! 🤗
Hugs and wonderful wishes for 2025 topped off our compliments for our dear hostess, Carol.
I once again apologized for my spill…Carol replied with a ‘forced’ chuckle, “That’s OK, Dee-Dee”. 😏
“Heh, heh”, I thought.

I took the elevator down to my flat…I couldn’t wait to watch “the real party” going on Times Square, (blocks away from my apartment building).
In my juvenile mind I part of that crowd. 😁
Back home I threw on the TV. 👀📺🎶
I wouldn’t miss watching New York’s New Year Eve Party & screaming along with it’s million revelers. 👩👦👦👨👧👨👦👦👨👧👧👩🏻🤝👩🏻👩🏼🤝👩🏼👩🏿🤝👩🏿Such excitement and joy and fun! 🎵🎵🎵🔊🎩👑
This nutty “young lady” was overwhelmed and sang along when Frank Sinatra voice was boomed over Times Square “New York, New York My Kinda Town”. 🔊🔊
….I remembered when our daughters finished school, they came to work with their dad & I. We would drive to work together; Arthur would blast that song, which was popular, (then), on the car’s tape…we would sing along on top of our lungs.
What happiness all of us together…as a young, vibrant family. 🧡🧡💚💙
Happy New Year everybody!
