I came out of the dentist's office and… surprise. 😮
A folded note being held by one of my window wipers on my parked car. 🚗
I unfold it to read in neat script, 💌
“Please could we speak over the phone. I live in town and have seen you about. I want to meet you. When I saw you park your car on the street, I thought I leave this note. My phone number is… (which I saw was in my immediate area code). “I’m single, I grew here, moved away, stayed for a time, & now I’m back home”.
Of course, I’m flattered but I not about to call a stranger especially one that left a note on my car.
About a month or so later, as I’m about to exit the local road, to get on the highway to Manhattan, when a limousine pulls alongside me. We are at a red light, in morning rush hour traffic.
Its driver signals me to pull down my window.
A gent in his fifties, dressed in a suit & tie, who has a pleasant smiling face shouted, “Please don’t be afraid…I’m the person who left the note on your windshield. My name is Lester Stein. Please get off at the next exit so that we may officially… meet in the 3 Guys Diner right on the exit…over coffee”?
