…… Joel Grey and Liza Minelli preforming in Cabaret….

This past weekend I caught “Cabaret” staring Liza Minelli & Joel Grey. It was on TCM.

What a marvelous movie! I’ve seen a few times thru the years…but it is still great.

Liza was at her best, and I remember seeing her in Carnegie Hall about the same year.

Her audience was so enthusiastic…she filled the music venue with Manhattanites, Suburbanites, Internationals and a Gay following.

We loved her singing; personality and we were grateful for her giving us…her fans her all!

Liza was stunning costumed in her favorite Halston lipstick red sequined gown with its thigh high sexy slit. She positively lit up the famous stage.

She danced, crooned and touched us with her warmth and adorable vulnerability. I was breathless with joy at Liza’s talent. The audience was one body when it clapped and shouted” Liza, Liza we love you”!

Those huge black eyes with curtains of top & bottom false eyelashes, that full- lipped, gummy sweet smile, the ebony vampy hair…captivated us. worshipping fans.

The Movie …. 😍

Cabaret is timely with the political climate of today…yet one of the greatest musicals that came out of movieland.

The contrast of Germany in the late 1930’s, with its perversely wild crazy nightlife, alongside with & brewing nationalism… Hitler and the Nazis as they would come into power.

It's also a Love story, with fabulous singing and Bob Fosse created dance routines. The scenery is so unique, and the whole cast is vibrant and funny.

A most entertaining artistic intriguing film.

Can you tell I enjoyed the movie? LOL! 🤗

*Friends see it again, or for the first time on TV.
