How about Saturdays in the 1950's in ole Brooklyn?
Mom would pack sandwiches in a brown paper bag, give us a nickel each for candy, told not to buy it in the movie theatre, because in there it cost 6 cents for the same candy bar.
We would line up at 11:30A.M. to get into the place at for the 12 O'clock show. The cartoons, serials like Superman, etc. then 2 full movies, coming attractions, then the grown-up movies would start but we'd hide in the bathroom stalls to sneak back into seats, again.
We stayed until about 7, before getting home.
Thinking back, Saturday afternoons were probably the only time parents had our tenement ap't. all to themselves to... I hope make love! LOL!
