“Getrude Stein My Unwelcome Guest”
All family travels led to Gram- Cracker’s (that’s me), New York City apartment for the holidays. 😊😍
My eldest daughter Lara & her beau Sebastian flew from the rural South into LaGuardia.
“Granddaughter Maisie motored 4 hours from a tiny Pennsylvania town…in holiday traffic.
The newly -weds grandson Sim, & wife, Lee took a flight from their Miami Beach home.
Hannah my younger girl drove from the Bronx, (just over the bridge) from Manhattan.
…And my nimbuses, Ms. Gertrude Stein, a war-like Czarist from a past life!
As you probably guessed, this is NOT THE famous late GERTRUDE STEIN of literary fame…but an infamous bitch of the tough Pittsburgh streets!
“The Gert” as I nicknamed her, was probably abandoned because her dog- mother had it with her nasty temperament and constant barking. 😒
You heard of a “Belter” singer well she is small, but I think she has a built-in microphone embedded in her throat…” a Bark-Belter. 🔉🔊📣
Her bark outsizes her. When Gertrude doesn’t bark at me, she growls under her breath.
Her former mistress must have beat her badly and my luck I must look like her! 🙄
I swear I never lived in Pittsburg and never was anything but sweet to her.
My granddaughter adopted “The Gert”, and she adores my girl. I am NOT allowed near my granddaughter because Ms. Stein goes nuts!
Imagine? I who all the dogs in the neighborhood love me & I love them!
She hates me so…she will not take a bribe/treat from me even when said Granddaughter coos, “Gertrude make friends”. Stubborn & obnoxious!
My luck “the Bitch of all Bitches” has a memory of an elephant although she is a jumbled mix of a nervous petite Chihuahua and a furious hyena… I surmise. 😏
Even though our paths have not past for months, now… as soon as she recognizes that when the elevator door opens on my 22nd floor, her rage commences.
Don’t ask… but when she spots me all barking hysterics amplify.
…I worry about disturbing all my neighbors.
Maisie has to hug her close while cooing and gently holding her jaw clamped.
Why does my precious Maisie not leave Gertrude Stein in Pennsylvania when coming to stay with me…because they are so co depend!
