Dee-Dee Does the NASDAQ…or the most thrilling day of my life(c)2022
When the closing bell gonged on the NASAQ Stock Exchange rang, it was my own grandson, who had the honor.
His company went public!
(I went public, too)!
My over -zealous joy captured my open mouthed and flaying arms, in motion cheering so hard, at the exchange, inside, it was put on the Times Square Screen, outside for the world to see. My image was building high…unbeknownst to me until we stepped out into the street. WEEELLLL!!!
Times Square was bustling with tourists and the usual cast of undesirables, as this was a holiday right before a 3-day weekend.
It was mind shattering for me to witness. At 81 am I too old to be a Hollywood starlet? LOL!
Passersby were staring at me “Wondering who the hell was I?
The fun, the love of family, his fellow workers caught a magical fire of ecstasy, the fruits of their steadfast hard work and development of their innovative technology. The comradery of the young company’s group knew the reward America can offer its young people. Capitalism was to be celebrated.
Can you believe this felt like the happiest day of my life!
We all had only one sad thought…that Arthur, my late husband and “Pops” to his grandson, wasn’t here to celebrate with us.
“Not to worry Gram, each of us carried something of his with us, as symbol of him, here today” chimed my grandkids.
Tears flowed…
